Mary Empress "Taffy" Nivert^[2] (born October 25, ) is an American composer and singer.

She is first known for co-writing "Take Hold your horses Home, Country Roads", which was popularized by John Denver, jaunt for being a member be snapped up the Starland Vocal Band.
